We want you to come see the farm! We are so excited to announce that our Open House celebration will take place on Saturday, August 23rd. And would we ever love for you to be a part of it!
On Saturday, August 23rd, from 12 noon until 4:00 p.m., we will be opening up the farm for a first-time ever special Open House event. Whether you’ve followed our journey online, visited in the past, or are just curious to see what we’ve been building here in the rolling hills of east-central Ohio, this is a great time to visit, walk the grounds, explore the cabins, and enjoy a relaxing afternoon at our farm.
Located just 20 minutes east of historic Cambridge, Ohio, The Farm @ Old World Garden has been a labor of love for us from the very beginning. What started as an overgrown and vacant 20 acre parcel of land has slowly been transformed into a unique and peaceful 46 acre destination to celebrate the beauty of nature, and the joy of gathering with others.
This summer’s Open House is a perfect way to share that vision with everyone. And even more – give an up close look at the many spaces and features we’ve been busy creating. As always, it’s a work in progress – but that progress has come a long way!
Come See The Farm At Our Open House
During the Open House, guests will be able to explore every corner of the farm. Whether on foot, or via a guided tour on a golf cart, there is a lot to see. From our gardens and grounds to our Airbnb cabin house and rustic overnight sleeping cabins – to the event barn, pavilion, pond area and more – everything will be open for touring.
Best of all, the day is free to attend – and there is no need for a reservation. Just come as you are and enjoy a relaxing summer afternoon with us. We’ll even have some light refreshments available as well for all to enjoy.
What You Can See
The Open House will feature tours of our 3,100 square foot event center – a space we designed to host our garden classes as well as weddings, celebrations, and gatherings of all kinds. With its vaulted ceilings, wide open floor plan, and sweeping views of the surrounding hills, it’s certainly one of our favorite new spaces on the farm.
As part of the tour, you’ll also be able to step inside our Airbnb cabin house, which is available year-round for overnight guests. Nestled among trees at the edge of the woods, the 600 square foot cabin house blends old-world charm with modern comfort. Inside, you’ll find a warm and inviting interior and a peaceful setting that offers a true getaway from the hustle and bustle of daily life.
In addition to the main Airbnb cabin, you can also check out our three rustic sleeping cabins. While simple in nature, the sleeping cabins provide a comfortable place to rest your head while still being close to all of the farm’s features.
Walk The Walkways & Trails
Of course, no visit to Old World Garden would be complete without a stroll along the trails and walkways that wind through the property. With a 3/4 mile walking path through the Grassland Gardens, and 3.5 mile trail with more robust hiking paths, guests are encouraged to take a walk through the woods, meadows, and gardens that make up the heart of the farm.
Along the way, you’ll find plenty of places to simply stop and take in the views. The trails connect various parts of the farm together. They also make for great hike for those looking for a good workout.
See The Grassland Gardens Project Take Shape At The Farm
One of the most exciting features guests will get to see during the Open House is the beginning stages of our Grassland Gardens project. Spanning nearly nine acres when complete, this ambitious project is our vision of creating the only ornamental grass garden in the country.

We’ve already planted over two thousand grasses and native perennials. And we have plans to continue adding tens of thousands more in the years ahead. Just in its infancy, the goal is to create a garden that features winding walking paths, large ornamental grass displays, sculpture installations, water features, and more.
During the Open House, visitors will be able to walk through the first planted areas. It will be a great chance to see how the project is beginning to take shape.
The Grassland Gardens were born out of our love for native plants – and the important role they play in both beauty and conservation. Grasses are low-maintenance, drought-tolerant, and stunningly beautiful. Especially when planted in mass displays – and that is exactly what we want to showcase! Their movement, sound, and texture bring life to any landscape. It’s exactly why we believe they deserve a special place of their own.
Even More To Do!
For those who enjoy gardening, this is also a great chance to walk through our vegetable gardens and flowerbeds. Nestled all around the farm, we have tried to plant gardens along with private sitting areas for guests to enjoy.
Throughout the afternoon, visitors that come to see the farm are welcome to relax at any of the farm’s outdoor spaces. The pond area is a great place to sit and enjoy the view, and our covered pavilion by the water will be open for guests to rest in the shade.
Our pickleball court will also be available to see. Located by the ponds, it really is a fun addition to the farm. It’s also one more way guests can enjoy their stay when renting a cabin or hosting an event.
Last but not least, you can tour and see the renovated party barn that was once a horse lean-to. It was the only building on the farm when we purchased it. Although it took a bit of doing, it has been restored into party barn now. It comes complete with an outdoor kitchen, fireplace, and Argentinian grill area.
Whether you’re sitting on the patio, walking the trails, or just taking in the view from a shady spot, we hope everyone will feel welcome and at home during their visit. And of course, we’ll be on hand to answer any questions, share more about the farm’s history, and talk about the exciting plans we have for the future.
We Are Looking Forward To Seeing You!
We truly hope you can join us for what promises to be a fun and relaxing afternoon on the farm. Whether you stay for a short visit or spend the whole afternoon exploring, we know you’ll leave with a better understanding of what The Farm @ Old World Garden is all about—and hopefully with some inspiration to return again soon. We can’t wait to share this special place with you!
So mark your calendar for Saturday, August 23rd, from 12 noon to 4:00 p.m. We’d love to have you come see the farm. Bring your walking shoes, bring a friend or two, and see what we’ve been creating out here in the hills. We look forward to seeing you!
