The public is invited to explore the University of Nebraska–Lincoln’s student hydroponic prototype and demonstration systems from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Dec. 2 and Dec. 4 in the Plant Science Teaching Greenhouse, 3855 Fair St.

There will be opportunities to visit with different student groups and learn about their uniquely developed hydroponic prototypes and specialty crops. See the diversity of approaches to growing plants, including fresh greens, fruits and edible flowers. Students will demonstrate various systems, including deep water, thin film, Bato bucket, raft, tower, gutter culture and more. Adams said there will be a bonus experience at the open house to enjoy seasonal treats in the warmth of the cozy greenhouse.
